Gold-Standard Vaginoplasty Procedure in New Jersey
What is Vaginoplasty?
Also known as vaginal rejuvenation, reconstructive vaginoplasty, cosmetic vaginoplasty, or surgical vaginal tightening, vaginoplasty is a surgery that alters the vaginal canal’s lining, along with the vaginal & perineal muscles.
Ageing, genetics, childbirth, certain medical conditions and lifestyle factors may lead to looseness of the vaginal muscles, resulting in vaginal laxity. Many women desire to make their vaginal muscles tighter for increased sensation and to return the tightness of their vagina to its pre-pregnancy state (when relevant).
Our advanced vaginoplasty techniques tighten the vaginal region along with its surrounding muscles. This helps improve vaginal function and sensation. Many times, vaginoplasty is combined with minimally invasive radiofrequency & laser treatments as an added complement to the procedure. Vaginoplasty offers improved muscle control, reduced urinary incontinence and increased tightness.
Patients may simultaneously undergo vaginoplasty and labiaplasty to address their functional and cosmetic goals all at once. Both are outpatient procedures & do not require hospitalization.
New patients are encouraged to schedule a free consultation with one of our vaginoplasty experts, Dr. Kayvan Rosstin, Dr. Mona Hardas or Dr. Ammar Mahmoud, to decide if a vaginoplasty procedure is a suitable solution for their vaginal concerns.
Who Is Eligible for Vaginoplasty?
Menopause, postpartum, weight gain & loss, and recurring increases in abdominal pressure may loosen one’s pelvic floor. These factors cause women to lose tightness in the vaginal area, which is evident if a woman has trouble contracting the Kegel muscles (levator ani muscles).
Additionally, reduced flow of blood to the lining of the vagina, as well as a build-up of scar tissue, may impair the sensation felt by the vaginal lining during sexual intercourse.
Gynecologists initially recommended Kegel exercises to their patients to strengthen their pelvic floor. However, if Kegel exercises cannot produce the desired results in 6 to 12 months, other treatments like vaginoplasty may be needed. It is best suggested that patients consult with a vaginoplasty expert like Dr. Rosstin, Dr. Hardas or Dr. Ammar.

The Vaginoplasty Procedure
Vaginoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure which helps remove superfluous vaginal lining (also called mucosa). This is followed by tightening/stitching the connecting tissue in between the levator ani muscles and rectovaginal fascia.
An effective vaginoplasty not only tightens the vaginal opening, but also involves tightening 60 to 70% of the inner vagina, starting from the opening.
During a vaginoplasty, the vagina’s opening is aesthetically and functionally repaired/tightened by conducting a perineoplasty. However, a perineoplasty itself will not result in a tighter, firmer vagina & will not fulfill the average woman’s expectations for the procedure. The internal element for tightening the vagina involves the bringing together of the transversus perinei (transverse perineal muscles) and levator ani toward the midline.
How to Determine The Right Surgeon for Vaginoplasty?
A successful tightening of the vagina requires opting for an experienced surgeon with a track record of high success. A vaginoplasty surgeon needs to have performed several identical procedures and should easily explain to the patient how successful their case may be.
Our team of expert cosmetic gynecological surgeons have conducted over a thousand successful vaginoplasty surgeries in New Jersey and holds a record of highly satisfied patients.

What Contributes to Vaginal Laxity and Decrease in Muscle Tone?
Complaints of vaginal laxity, decreased vaginal feeling, and decreased enjoyment during sexual activity may be caused by dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles (levator ani muscles), rectocele, cystocele, vaginal prolapse, and/or the lining of the vaginal canal (vaginal epithelium).
Vaginoplasty Improves Vaginal Tone and Increases Friction for Better Sensation
Through approximation (stitching together) of the levator ani muscles, vaginoplasty aims to enhance vaginal tone. The reduction of vaginal lining scar tissue (which can result from vaginal birth trauma/injury) and increase in vaginal blood flow help improve sensation. After vaginoplasty, a woman may also enjoy enhanced lubrication.
Vaginoplasty is frequently performed alongside related procedures and/or surgeries. Some non-surgical options include: vaginal rejuvenation through laser or radiofrequency and the O-Shot®. The O-Shot® involves injecting a patient’s own blood-derived nutrients in order to enhance sensation at the g-spot and improve lubrication.
Vaginoplasty Surgery Offers the Following Benefits:
- Increased muscular control and strength
- Greater friction for heightened sexual responsiveness and pleasure
- Improved aesthetic appearance of the vagina
- Increased sexual confidence and self-esteem
Procedures
Rectocele or cystocele may also be treated non-surgically with FemiLift or CO2RE Intima (vaginal laser rejuvenation) or Thermiva® (radiofrequency treatment). This can be really beneficial for urine incontinence or leakage.
During your visit, our expert surgeon will determine if this treatment option is appropriate for you.
